Traxxas Slash 2WD

This is my 2wd Traxxas Slash with the black chassis. Unknowingly, I got this Slash in a bundle when I actually wanted the other car. The Slash came heavily used with copious amounts of clay and sand on every part of the chassis. But suprisingly after a thorough clean and soak in the sonic cleaner, the car came out really well and I was surprised how well the shocks dampened given the overall state of the car.

The Slash, I’ve been told, is the staple choice of Short Course Truck for adults and kids alike in the US and as a result, there’s an abundance of them over there. Sadly over here in the UK, Traxxas still remain pretty rare due to high costs of the kit and parts. That said, if you want a proper basher, you won’t go far wrong with a Traxxas.

I’ve opted for the Killerbody Short Course body on this as it was quite good value. Chances are this car will be bashed so I didn’t want to spend too much on a body knowing that it’s probably going to get beat. That said, the body feels quite rigid and sturdy and I think it looks great especially with the two wheels attached to the rear of the shell.  The only downside is because it is a generic body, I’ve need to position the body in a way that I’ve had to trim quite a bit off the arches for it to clear the wheels but this tends to be the norm for all generic short course bodies.
