DT02 Carbon Fibre Chassis with TRF201 Bodyshell
Here is my Tamiya DT02 with the Carbon Fibre chassis and TRF201 body.
Wheels
Wheels on this are just the normal Tamiya star dish wheels with the DT02 Holiday Buggy tyres. Not going to be a racer so there’s no need for any racing rubber on this one.
Shocks
Again, I’ve opted for the 3Racing shocks on this one as it gives the bling factor at a much more affordable price compared to the Tamiya TRF shocks.
Front Shock Tower
My car here has the rare carbon fibre front shock tower from 3Racing. You needed the alloy front bulkhead as well to be able to fit the carbon tower. Sadly, these are no longer available which is a shame as they are a rather cool item to have.
Carbon Fibre Chassis
Here, there DT02 running has been transferred over to the carbon fibre chassis. The chassis is the same dimensions as the plastic tub so it is a like for like transfer. For those that dig carbon ( like me ), it really is a very showy and blingy chassis.
Electrics
I’ve opted for an affordable brushless system here. Budget 10.5T motor mated to a 120A ESC, this is actually the motor spec for the DT Challenge.
Completed Car
So here we have it, the completed carbon fibre DT02 with the spare TRF201 bodyshell I had left over from the Orb build.
