Here is my humble Kyosho Optima. It is proper old school as it is an original. Bought mainly for parts as it was missing loads when I got it. However, over the years, I’ve accumulated spares from racing and indeed now it has been built up to a car in its own right. The car came in really bad and used condition, but I’ve worked slowly on getting it back up to a working state.

Things I’ve added are:

• left over red shocks from my re released Kyosho Optima build
• generic buggy rims and tyres
• rear motor heatsink/fan
• 3D printed motor cover ( not great but works as a stopgap )
• Kyosho Optima body from Penguin Bodyshells
• alloy arms all round as I pinched the plastic ones for racing
• alloy c hubs as again I pinched the plastic ones for racing
