The WLtoys K989 is a neat little car (truck). It’s a budget version of the Kyosho Mini. Budget price it may be, but there’s a lot that comes with it. You get 4wd, alloy chassis, all round independent shocks,  motor, esc, transmitter, receiver, lipo, charger and even a load of funky running LED lights on the body.

Running wise, the car is a lot of fun and is well suited to running indoors at home. The transmitter has a dial to allow you to tone down the speed of the motor to slow it down to allow younger drivers to get used to the controls before going full in with the power, it’s great fun!

There’s a plethora of alloy hop ups that you can get for the car and loads of modifications that you can do to turn it into a mini drifter but for me, as it is out of the box, it makes the most sense.
One little niggle I had was that the differentials ( diffs ) on the car felt really stiff so you may need to look into that if you get one as it is a common issue. But apart from that, I have no qualms with it at all.
